Vision for Bexar County Precinct 2
Leadership in Local Government
We all deserve leadership in local government that is heavily engaged with the people it serves, and is fiscally and ethically responsible and accountable across all areas of government.
We deserve government that works hard to create opportunity for economic growth and prosperity for everyone, and ensures equitable distribution of resources across the County.
We deserve leadership that implements policies and processes that remove barriers to economic growth and prosperity and works hard to attract businesses where we live, work and play, while maintaining responsible preservation of our community’s unique culture.
We all deserve leadership that can relate to the challenges today’s families face – and be forward thinking and visionary in order to create positive influences in all areas that affect our lives, from affordable housing, healthcare, education, and economic prosperity for ALL.
We deserve leadership that encourages new, bold and innovative ideas to address the community’s most significant challenges to growth and prosperity. Forming strong partnerships with external organizations and agencies to leverage and ensure responsible application of resources, local government can do more!
Business & Economy
We all deserve leadership that encourages small business development, economic growth and opportunities for all through fair and transparent County processes. We deserve leadership that makes opportunities accessible to everyone who is willing to work hard to establish and grow their business.
Cost of Living
We all deserve leadership that can relate to the challenges today’s families face – and be forward thinking and visionary in order to create positive influences in all areas that affect our lives, from affordable housing, healthcare, education, and economic development for ALL.
Military & Veterans Services
Our service-members and veterans have served our country and are invaluable assets to our community. They deserve the resources to ensure they can access the benefits they earned through service to our country and are able to leverage their skills and leadership in order to have a successful transition from the military.
PCT 2 has the second highest population in Bexar County with 477,477 residents, with the lowest Median Household income at $44,170. Why? Pct. 2 also has the highest renter rate out of every Pct. In Bexar County at 45%. That means almost half of the entire population in Pct. 2 cannot afford to own a home, so they rent. This has to change.
Infrastructure and Transportation
Infrastructure and transportation are significant challenges across Bexar County. While the area continues to experience massive growth, our infrastructure and transportation are not adequate to handle this. From gridlock in highly congested areas to basic infrastructure needs in the inner city and rural Bexar County, much more needs to be done. We can do more with innovation and collaboration.
